Process Engineer – Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer to qualify, optimize, and sustain semiconductor manufacturing processes in collaboration with our customers. The Process Engineer will work closely with account management, field service, and customers to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and quality of processes used in the fabrication of semiconductor devices. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills, knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing technologies, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process qualification and optimization:

  • Implement, and optimize semiconductor manufacturing processes (e.g., etching, deposition, wet, furnace, etc.).

  • Conduct experiments and analyze data to improve process performance, and efficiency.

2. Sustaining Engineering:

  • Monitor and maintain existing manufacturing processes to ensure consistent quality and performance.

  • Identify process deviations or failures and implement corrective and preventive actions at the equipment level.

  • Collaborate with equipment engineers to troubleshoot and resolve equipment or process issues.

 3. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Interface with account management teams to understand requirements and ensure the feasibility of technical proposals.

  • Review process specifications for new tools and also for product enhancements on existing tools.

  • Provide technical guidance to field service teams and assist in process training.

 4. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Document process flows, operating procedures, and best practices.

  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a related industry.

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes (e.g., CVD, PVD, etching, etc.).

  • Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and DOE (Design of Experiments).

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cleanroom protocols and safety standards.

  • Knowledge of semiconductor equipment operation and maintenance.

  • Hands-on experience with automation and advanced manufacturing techniques.
